Evaporation Boats
Evaporation Boats
Description
Evaporation Boats
Evaporation boats are high-temperature containers widely used in material evaporation and thin-film deposition. Different metals offer unique properties to meet specific process requirements.
Tungsten Evaporation Boat
Tungsten has the highest melting point of all metals, providing excellent thermal resistance and corrosion stability compared to many molten metals. With special dopants such as potassium silicate, its corrosion resistance and dimensional stability are further enhanced.
Molybdenum Evaporation Boat
Molybdenum is a highly stable metal suitable for high-temperature environments. When doped with lanthanum oxide (La₂O₃), its ductility and corrosion resistance are significantly improved. Additional doping with yttrium oxide (Y₂O₃) makes molybdenum easier to process while maintaining stability.
Tantalum Evaporation Boat
Tantalum features an extremely low vapor pressure, resulting in a slower evaporation rate. Its major advantage lies in its exceptional corrosion resistance, making it ideal for demanding applications where chemical stability is critical.
